December 15th 2014

Sooo for this week! I'm not getting transferred!!! YAY!!! But I’m losing Elder Rodriguez and that makes me super triste (sad). :'-( He's going back to Rialto 3 which is where he started his mission. So he is kind of excited but also not because he has been moved every transfer since he started his mission. But I'm staying which is a change too so I'm happy about that. Elder Jewell is leaving to Redlands to be with Elder Maroto. Elder Baer is staying and he will be finishing the training of Elder Lopez who is from Mexico. And the sisters are both staying.

So I'll start with Wednesday. We had exchanges and Elder Baer and I went and did service with the Rodriguez family again. We cut their front lawn and we cleaned the horse stalls. It was fun. I was also feeling pretty rough because I was getting over a cold and Hna Rodriguez gave me some Mexican medication to kill the pain in my head. Which would have been fine because normally the meds they give in Mexico are more concentrated then here in the U.S. But it didn't help at all. After that we rode back to the apartment and changed and tried to go visit people but nobody was home and so we were riding and we saw this car pulled to the side of the road and so we stopped and started talking to him, his name is Brian, and we were able to get a hold of someone to come and jump him and so we got his car started and we got his phone number but he didn't want to give us his address so we were just like well ok that’s fine. So he drove off and we started riding and we go about a mile and who do we find stopped dead at the light. Our buddy Brian. So we locked up our bikes and we helped him push his car to his house. And so we found out his address. haha. We thought that was pretty funny he tried and tried but couldn't get away!!!

Thursday I was sick so we stayed inside :/ Just a cold so nothing too bad but I didn't want to get anyone else sick and my head was pounding and everything hurt. So yeah we just stayed in.

Friday we decided to walk and use our umbrellas to keep us from getting super mojados (wet). And so we walked, there weren't tons of people outside…ok there was nobody outside!  But we were able to find a lot of people at home and we had some good lessons and watched He is the Gift with a lot of people. We had a Christmas dinner that night at the church and we were the first ones there to set up at 6:30 and it was supposed to start at 7 but I guess the dinner went ok. There weren't a lot of people there we are hoping more people will be at this Saturday’s Noche en Belen(Night in Bethlehem). We'll see how it goes.

But that's my week! I hope everyone has a great Christmas and that we can all remember the reason we celebrate! To remember Jesus Christ and His birth and that because of Him we can all be saved and return to live with our Father in Heaven.

I hope everyone has a good week!
I love yall!

Hey mom!!!

So this week was pretty good! It was a bit crazy because it rained 2 days in a row but other than that it was a pretty normal week. The rain days are the most fun so I'll basically just focus on those. Basically we went out and tried to visit some people and we were soaked after an hour so what we did was on our way to our next appointment, well the next person we wanted to see we stopped at the apartment and changed and layered up really good. And then we headed out and it took a lot longer to get soaked but after about 2 and a half hours we were drenched >.< But we had a really cool experience at one of the apartment complexes. We were out in the middle trying to figure out what to do and a guy walked over to us and asked if he could use our phone to call his daughter because his phone was out of service and we said yes and he called and then he invited us over to his home. He was kind of freaking out because his daughter hadn't gotten back from school yet and so we just talked to him and helped him stay calm until she got home and when we left he said he'd like us to come back again so we are going to stop by tomorrow to see how he is doing.

I think about it and that really is about all that happened :/

I'm sorry this week is lame. I hope everyone has a great week! I love yall!

December 1st 2014

Hey Mom!

The only like big thing was Thanksgiving. For thanksgiving we made cookies for all of our members and for some reason we had these cool little gift boxes in the apartment so we put them inside with a little thank you note shirt and we gave them to our members. It took a long time and it was a lot of work but it was fun and the members loved it! We had dinner with the Moya family. It was fun. Just them and us and some turkey. It was fun!

On Friday we had dinner with our ward mission leader. They got me cake and we had leftovers and it was a lot of fun. He also got me some fancy cologne for my birthday. I forgot to take a picture of it. But it was a lot of fun and I'm super grateful for the Torriz family and all they do for us missionaries. They are like our parents away from home!

But other than that nothing much else happened. We are just doing our work and trying to be obedient and help people! I know this church is true and I'm so grateful for all the blessings I have received from it and I know that the Lord is at the head and is leading us!

I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and has lots of missionary experiences!

Love yall and miss ya!

November 24th, 2014

Zachary’s birthday is on Friday.  I asked him if the 7 years of being teenager went by fast and told him that he is going to blink and be 30!

Hey mom!!!

Yeah it’s super weird that I'm almost 20!!!!! BLEEEEHH!!!
And yeah it’s flown by in some ways. But in others it’s taken forever.
30!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!! DONT SAY THAT!!!

As for the week it’s been pretty good. On Tuesday I was asked to dedicate a family’s new car. That was a rather interesting experience. I wasn't sure how to do it. I've heard of blessing and dedicating homes, apartments, chapels, and proselyting areas, but I had never heard of blessing a car. I was thinking to myself, can I/should I use the priesthood to bless it? or should I just sort of do it like a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to bless it. I did the latter and basically said a prayer and it was good. But it was kind of weird cause I'd never done that before.

We also had super cool lesson with an investigator named Luis on Tuesday. We read the introduction to the Book of Mormon with him and explained that it was the truest book that existed on the earth and he was like "whoa". The spirit was super, super strong and he said we had piqued his interest and that he was excited to learn more! We are excited for our next lesson with him tomorrow!

Also we have a family in the ward that has horses and we went to their house on Friday and helped them wash them. It was super fun!

Saturday we had our missionary ward correlation meeting and after it our ward mission leader took us with him to give a blessing to a friend of his. So we went and we gave it to her and on our way towards the elevator, someone said "Hey Elders!" so we turned and this guy walked over and said he was in the Thermal Ward in Coachella and that his dad was in the hospital and so we asked if he'd like us to visit him and he said for sure because he had been about to try to get a hold of the missionaries to come when he saw us. So we went and it was Hermano H. from the Thermal Ward and we recognized each other and it was cool. We gave him a blessing and left. It’s just another witness that God is mindful of everyone and takes us places so that we can be where He needs us.

That was about the week. My pictures are of the district right after our last district meeting. Us cleaning the horse, including me spraying Elder R. with the hose. I feel bad about that because the water was really, really cold. And then our ward mission leader got us Elotes. It’s a piece of corn on a stick, or you can get it in a cup and they cover it in mayonnaise and cheese, and chili and stuff. I've had them; they are alright, but not my favorite food. But yep pictures of everyone happily eating. Except for Elder R. who doesn't smile.

But that’s my week!!! I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!!!!

I love yall!!!
